Fifth Wheel to Gooseneck Adapter that Would Work Best with Lower Pin Weights

Question:

We are looking to purchase a fifth wheel with a pin weight of 1,400 pounds. Is there a model that works for lighter pin weights? We are looking to purchase for better ride quality as well as space savings in the bed. Thanks

Gen-Y does offer different versions of their pin box adapters like the part # GY43FR that works better with different tongue weight ranges but none go quite as low as what you have so instead I would go with the Reese Goose Box part # RP94716-61301 which instead uses an air bag to provide support for the cushioning which you can use with a lower pressure to achieve the best ride quality. This fits the same trailer pin boxes as what you have. Also worth mentioning is that the Goose Box is the only gooseneck hitch adapter option that doesn't void the warranty of the trailer frame.
