How to charge towed vehicle with RV.

Question:

Hi, I have a roadmaster nighthawk and a demco DUO braking system. All has worked fine for the last couple years… until I drove in the dark this week and found I have brake and signals but no running lights. So… I have a few silly questions: 1 should the nighthawk be triggering the running lights when the RV’s are on ? 2 should the DUO be triggering the running lights? 3 is it neither and just a setting on the Jeep that I apparently can’t figure out? 4 if it is the Jeep… does the nighthawk charge the jeeps battery?

The Nighthawk has built-in wires that can be used to charge your towed vehicle's battery when you also use Roadmaster charge line # RM-156-25 on the vehicle side to connect to the towed battery. If you don't have charge line coming through your RV's 7 way already then you'll also need the RV side charge line kit # RM-156-75.

The Demco Duo does not charge the battery.

The running lights on your towed vehicle should be turning on via the wires coming from the RV to your Towed vehicle via the nighthawk cables. I would check with a wire tester # PTW2992 for this.
