Troubleshooting Trailer 7k Axle with Locked Up Wheel
Question:
The driver side front wheel is locked up on my tandem axle trailer. It’s got Dexter 7,000 pound axles with electric brakes. How should I troubleshoot this issue?

It's probably a bearing that got destroyed due to lack of lubrication which then caused it to look up to the axle's spindle. What you are going to want to do is take it all apart and see what the damage is. Remove the wheel, take off the dust cover of the hub, and then remove the spindle nut that holds the hub to the axle. Hopefully you can then pull the hub off of the axle easily.
I'd assume you'd need a new hub/drum like with the part # 8-219-4UC3-EZ but it is possible you could get by with just a replacement bearing kit # BK3-200. Make sure that the spindle is in decent shape too before you put everything back together.
