Kuat specifically states not to use the Kuat NV Base 2.0 Hitch Bike Rack # BA22B on the back of a fifth wheel, motorhome or travel trailer. This mainly has to do with the distance between the hitch and the rear axle. A hitch on the back of a fifth wheel is much farther from the rear axle than a hitch on car or truck, so it will be faced with a lot more movement while driving. More movement means more stress on the bike rack itself, stress that the bike rack is not made to withstand. The movement on the back of a trailer is the most significant, but the movement on a fifth wheel or motorhome is still quite a bit more than on the back of a car or truck.

That being said, the Kuat NV 2.0 # BA22B is a fantastic bike rack for a car or truck. I have been using one personally on the back of a Toyota Corolla for around 4 years now and it has proven to be very durable and easy to use.

If you are in need of a bike rack rated for use on a travel trailer, I recommend Kuat Transfer V2 # KU84FR. This is similar to the Kuat NV in that it is a wheel mount bike rack that can hold two bikes weighing up to 60 lbs apiece. The Kuat Transfer V2 on the other hand is rated for use on a travel trailer, fifth wheel or motorhome.

You will find a few of our videos highlighting the Kuat Transfer V2 linked below.
