What Kind Of Remote Comes With The Dometic FanTastic Roof Vent # FV807350
Question:
Are the new remotes not RF / radio frequency, so you don’t need to point right at the fan, or are the now the cheeper type ones that need to be pointed directly at the fan?

The new remotes that come with the Dometic FanTastic Roof Vent # FV807350 are not radio frequency, so you do not need to point it directly at the fan. I can tell you from experience that usually as long as you have the remote in the same room as the vent, it will respond to the remote just fine.
