Offset Spare Tire Carrier for a 16 Inch Spare Tire from a 2010 Subaru Outback Wagon

Question:

A full sized spare tire for my subauru outback model year 2010 is a 16 inch tire with 5 bolt holes. I measured from center to center the distance from adjacent bolt holes. The distance is 2 and 5/16 inch. The carrier needs to be offset for distance away from the trailer frame and elevated for ground clearance. Someone recommended FHDSTC0101. The question I have is: Given the distance from one bolt hole to the adjacent bolt hole, will this product fit me spare tire?

Based on the measurements you have provided it is not likely that spare tire carrier # FHDSTC0101 is going to work with the wheel and tire you measured. This carrier only will fit a 5-lug wheel if it has a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. The measurement from hole to adjacent hole for this bolt pattern would be 2-5/8 inches which is 5/16 of an inch more than what you have measured.

If you happen to have a free 2 inch trailer hitch receiver, the best option is going to be Curt spare tire carrier # C31006. The long slotted holes allow many, many different sizes and bolt patterns to fit it. If you do not have an open 2 inch receiver because you are towing a trailer, you could use the # D210 multipurpose ball mount.
