Troubleshooting Low Output Voltage From A Progressive Dynamics PD9160ALV Converter
Question:
Using the 9160ALV charger w/o pendant CW. Beginning charge at 10.3vdc I have the same problem stated in detail in the above question. I am using 4awg wiring for both positive and negative connections to the LiFepo4 battery 12v, 300ah. There is no Voltage between the positive output of the converter and the positive battery terminal. The output voltage seems to never go above 13.7 volts even during charging at 67 amps. Is there something else I can try to get 14.6volts at initial charge?

The Progressive Dynamics # PD9160ALV charges the battery differently depending on the load placed on the battery so I recommend placing a larger load on the battery and retesting the output voltage for any changes. If there isn't a change then you'll want to next check that the input voltage for the converter is 105v - 130v AC. You'll also want to check that the converter is receiving proper airflow/ventilation to properly operate. This could also be an issue with the battery's BMS or even a dead cell.
