Rooftop Cargo Box For Skis on 2015 Honda CR-V With Factory Roof Rack
Question:
We have a 2015 CRV with factory roof rails and bars. We need an alpine ski box that fits 205cm cross country skis. I would still like to be able to open the back hatch! Any recommendations? Thanks

We can definitely get your 2015 Honda CR-V set up with a rooftop box to accommodate your 205cm skis. For a rooftop cargo box that fits your CR-V's factory roof rack and can hold skis of that length there is an option from Yakima that will be perfect:
- Yakima SkyBox 12 Rooftop Cargo Box # Y07334
The SkyBox 12 # Y07334 can hold skis up to 215cm so yours will fit, comes with locks to keep them safe, opens from either side of your CR-V, and installs easily with clamps.
As for opening your hatch, you'll need to measure from the center of your front crossbar to the rear seam where your CR-V's hatch opens. That measurement needs to be at least 57 inches for the hatch to be able to fully open without interference with the SkyBox on.
