Do The Firestone Air Bag Helper Springs Replace The Factory Shocks on 2001 Chevy Suburban 1500?
Question:
Hello, I was wondering does this replace the factory shocks or is this an addition to the shocks on a 2001 chevy suburban 1500.

Expert Reply:
The Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs # F4108 which fit inside the coil springs on your 2001 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 are in addition to the factory shocks. These will not replace your shocks as they provide additional support to your coil springs to reduce rear end sag when loading with additional weight.
The Springs # F2398 you found are for a Ford Super Duty and will not fit your Suburban.
The Firestone Automatic, Single-Gauge Pneumatic Height-Control Valve w/ Compressor # F2186-2047 is a great addition to the air springs. This will automatically adjust the pressure in the air springs to maintain the ride height. It also has an onboard air tank which you can also use to fill tires on your Suburban or trailers you may pull.
