Recommended Replacement Axle With Hubs for a 1970 Evinrude Boat Trailer

Question:

1962 to 1970 Evinrude brand boat trailer with torsion bar set up. Trailer was a signal axle probly for a 19ft boat We are needing a replacement hub, hub got broken due to loose lug nuts. The axle which is Evinrude, was modified onto a home made trailer. I believe its atleast 5bolt. The barrel on the hub sticks out farther than most and instead of a normal snap on grease cap its a flat bolted on cap, and contains oil. Its a very odd design, looks similar to heavy duty truck axle hubs.

In all honesty it's going to be much easier to just replace the entire axle with something like the Dexter Trailer Axle with Idler Hubs # 35545I-ST-89.

This axle in particular would replace a 3.5K axle that measures 89" from hub face to hub face, 74" from spring center to spring center, and has a 5 on 4 1/2 bolt pattern.

You'd just need to confirm your axle capacity as well as the hub face and spring center measurements for us to get you the right size axle.
