Can The etrailer eDream Supreme RV Mattress Be Bent Around 90 Degrees In An RV Slide Out?

Question:

I seen a couple of the answers but still not comfortable about buying this mattress we have a 2019 Discovery LXE 40 D and the bed is in the slide out that has to be brought in and the bed tilts almost 90° I’m just so nervous that this mattress will not bend that much. Can you give me assurance that somebody else has used this mattress in a motorhome like this and it worked? I watched a video and it looks like a really nice mattress I like that you can turn it over and use the other side but it seems awful stiff to bend this much. Thank you for your response Henry Hoffman

The etrailer eDream Supreme RV Mattress # e77FR does have a good amount of flexibility. After all, they do ship rolled and compressed, so we know they can take quite a bit of "bending" and return to their original shape. It is not uncommon for these mattresses to be used in slide outs similar to yours.

That being said, the eDream Supreme mattress is not designed to be folded or bent repeatedly. So while it may bend when you retract the slide, the concern is that repeating this process could make the mattress less comfortable over time. Adding a non-slip pad or rubber mat will help the mattress stay in place when you retract the slide.

A foam mattress like the Denver Mattress Rest Easy Euro Top RV Foam Mattress # DE46ZR would be more suited for this application. It may not be quite as comfortable as the eDream mattress, but repeatedly bending a foam mattress really will not affect it in the slightest.
