The Yellow and Brown Bonded Wires Were Damaged, Can They Just Be Spliced Together?

Expert Reply:
You will need to repair the wires individually as the brown and yellow wires power different functions on your trailer tail lights. I recommend using the Heat Shrink Butt Connectors # DW05744-5 to protect the wiring from moisture. The yellow wire carries the power for the brake and turn signal while the brown powers the running lights. If you were to splice all these together anytime your left turn signal would activate it would cause all the running lights to also flash.
