Troubleshooting 3020 Brake Controller Only Sending 5V on Output Wire
Question:
I am troubleshooting a 3020 brake controller, I found the 7 blade on my truck was corroded and elec brake wire prong had fallen off. I replaced the plug. At the controller I have 12 v to black 12 v to red when the slide or brake pedel is activated, but I cut the blue coming out of the controller and it only gets 5 v dc when the slide or depress brake. I bought a 20 ft tandem trailer and very heavy loaded up and down hills not good. The red light does not light up at all.

It sounds like you've done everything right when it comes to troubleshooting your brake controller. If you have the gain cranked up all the way and you're still only seeing that 5V coming through the output of the controller then that tells me there is something internal going on with the controller and it needs to be replaced. If it has a lifetime warranty I recommend taking advantage of that, otherwise we have a variety of options to choose from.
For a replacement controller I highly recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED24FR and the Universal Pigtail # RED69FR. The Liberty is a little different than a standard controller since there is a single control knob and it uses LED lights to communicate what is going on, but this controller is extremely reliable, can be installed out of the way, and the pigtail wiring will match per color what your 3020 controller was using.
I've attahced a review video of this controller for your reference.
