Best Weight Distribution System for a 3,500 lbs Trailer

Question:

I am looking to add a weight distribution hitch. I have a Dodge Durango with a towing capacity of #6200 and towing a travel trailer with a GVW of #3500. The trailer has a #200 empty ball weight. I can only estimate the loaded ball weight maybe #800-1000. What type of hitch would work best? Thanks

Tongue weight is typically between 10% and 15% of your trailer's total weight. That would put your 3,500 lbs trailer's tongue weight around 350 lbs to 525 lbs. With this in mind, I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control item # EQ37060ET.

The Equal-i-zer item # EQ37060ET has a 200 lbs - 600 lbs tongue weight range so it would be perfect for your trailer. This system has built in sway control that will keep your trailer in line with your Durango when you make sudden moves or get passed by a semi on the highway. It includes a 2" shank and a 2" hitch ball.

I have linked a review video below so you can see this system set up and its features demonstrated.
