Where Sould Protection Pads for a Trunk Mount Bike Rack Go
Question:
I have a 15 or 20 year old 3 bike rear rack that I used to use on my minivan. Now I have a 2019 honda crv and wonder whether I should put the lower pads on the bumper or higher up where it will rest on the license plate. thanks

Ideally you'd want to put the upper pads over the leading edge of the trunk/hatch on your Honda CR-V, and the lower pads would go on a well-supported license plate depression, just above or below the numbers.
Some bike racks have vehicle specific fit instructions so If you can let me know what you have I'd be happy to see if there is any instructions.
