Replacement Key/Lock Core for Yakima SpaceCadet

Question:

I have acquired an older Yakima SpaceCadet cargo box with the white shell. it does not have any code numbers visible. Is it possible that it is an sks key despite its age?

The Yakima SpaceCadet does use the Same Key System (SKS). If your lock core is unlocked you can use the control key # Y8007835 to remove it and find the lock number printed on the side. This will allow you to find the right replacement key if that is what you're looking for.

If you're wanting to swap both the lock core and key you can use the Yakima Same Key System (SKS) Lock Cores # Y07202 which includes the control key. If you lost your old key and it is locked the only way to get it out is to drill it out. Once this is done you can install the new lock core.
