You're definitely going to want to check the Viking Solutions Deer Splitter Tool item # 310-VDS001 if you want to make it to Colorado for your trip. This tool was designed to cut through the chest cavities, pelvic bones, and jaw bones of a kill. It'll even cut through a deer's pelvis that weighs up to 200 lbs. They're not going to let you throw this in your carry on.

The blade length on the Deer Splitter Tool item # 310-VDS001 is 4" and the overall dimensions are 11-1/2" long x 1" thick. It has long, scissor-like handles that will prevent you from having to reach too far inside the animal. This means less blood and especially crap on your hands if you messed up and managed to gut shot whatever you're hunting.

Please note that this tool should only be used for cutting game animals.
