Can the Tekonsha Prodigy RF Brake Controller Be Used with a Battery Connected to 12 Volt Circuit Too
Question:
I have a charging circuit that charges through the 7-way connector my tent trailers battery while the tow vehicle is running. Is this circuit the one that powers the power module, or is there some other way the power module gets its power? If the power module uses the tow vehicles charging circuit, how much current can the power module pass to the tent trailers battery?

The Tekonsha RF, # TK94FR, does use the same 12 volt circuit as your tent trailer battery uses. If looking at the 7-Way trailer connector on the vehicle, it is the pin in the 1 oclock position.
The RF does not require much amperage draw to function so the battery charge line should not be affected. If the battery on your trailer is a regular 12 volt car battery then the 12 volt circuit can only provide a maintenance charge anyway and keep the battery from draining. There is not enough amperage on the 12 volt circuit to charge up a trailer mounted battery.
