How to Remove Spring From Older Stromberg Carlson Lend-a-Hand Folding Grab Handle
Question:
I just ordered a replacement stromberg lend a hand. It’s the exact right size but the holes don’t match up. I was going to just replace the part that bolts onto the trailer, however I took it off and I CAN NOT get the spring off to pull the bolt out and switch the handle. Please help. See attached photos.

To swap out your new Lend-a-Hand Folding Grab Handle for RVs # AM-800 handle to fit the older mounting bracket you have all you'll need to do is cut that lock washer and the bolt will be free to come out.
You'll need to use the new hardware from your new Lend-a-Hand to install the new handle since it has a lock nut that will keep the spring in place. Depending on the size of everything you may need a washer as well if you have to reuse the old spring.
