Is 1" Of Exhaust/Muffler Clearance Okay For The 7-Way Wiring Kit ETBC7L?
Question:
I’m about to install this adapter on a 2024 Crosstrek wilderness. The only routing option puts a section of the wiring about 1 inch from the muffler before it can run under the heat shield. Is this to close? Thanks

Expert Reply:
I would not recommend running the wiring for the 7-Way # ETBC7L within 1" of the exhaust/muffler on your 2024 Subaru Crosstrek. If this is the only way you can run the wiring you will want to see about getting a section of metal you can mount on your existing heat shield to protect the exposed section of wiring. Heat wrap would not be enough to protect the wiring from cases where there is excessive heat in the exhaust on hot days.
