Should Bearings Be Replaced When a New Axle Is Installed
Question:
I’m about ready to purchase a 3500lb. Dexter axel 95” Hub to hub from etrailer. I ran over a large rock w/a lot of weight on my dual axel trailer and my rear axel bent. I’m wearing out tire so it’s time to replace. My question is do I also need to replace the bearings? My trailer is 7 years old and only gets used about 2-3 times per year. Maybe 500 miles/year total.

If your bearings are in good shape no, you don't need to replace your bearings with your new axle. A good rule of thumb is to replace your bearings every 12,000 miles or every 12 months, whichever comes first.
Since you don't use the trailer that often you should be fine, but considering the age I'd probably just replace them.
