Using OEM Lines to Install Aftermarket Transmission Cooler # D13502 in 2012 Jeep Liberty
Question:
My 2012 Jeep Liberty currently has a very small transmission cooler. Once I remove the OEM trans cooler, can I use the existing lines already in place for the new cooler?

The aftermarket coolers we offer for oil and transmission fluids are intended to serve as supplementary units to assist the factory devices, but they are not designed to replace them. You are certainly able to usefully add secondary cooling for your Liberty transmission by installing a supplementary cooler such as the high-efficiency Derale # D13502.
Oil and transmission coolers are not truly vehicle-specific; you can install a cooler as large as the space you have available for one. The link provided will let you see all. The Derale Class III cooler # D13502 measures 11 x 7-1/4 x 7/8-inches. If you have ample space for this unit in front of your Liberty air-conditioning condenser (the best location for it) and for the fluid lines to make gentle bends (no sharp turns that could block fluid flow) then this unit is an excellent choice. It includes the Insta-dapt radiator adapter that fits most (but not all) vehicles with 5/16-inch transmission lines.
If you need extra hose we offer # D13003 which is 4-feet of high-temp hose.
