Gooseneck Hitch Recommendations for a 1992 Ford F250

Question:

I have a 1992 Ford F250, and am looking at purchasing a gooseneck plate for it. I was wondering if the plate could be bolted to the frame? And how I would go about doing that, through the whole frame, or just the top? With how many bolts? Would I have to cut part of the bed in order to mount it to the frame? Thanks.

The Curt Gooseneck Plate part # C65500 that you referenced is a universal fit item that could be installed in your 1992 Ford F250. The recommended way to install it would be to also use the Universal Rail Kit part # C61502. I spoke to Curt about whether or not this system can be used without the rail kit and they said it can be installed without the rail kit, but you will need to use a minimum of six 1/2 inch Grade 5 mounting bolts.

Another option you have that would be easier to install and use would be the Curt Quick Gooseneck and Installation kit part # C630-636. This is a custom kit designed specifically to work on your vehicle, this means that it would install much easier. The gooseneck ball of this system also flips so that you can have complete truck bed access when in the down position.
