Replacement Surge Brake Actuator For Atwood 61101
Question:
Hello, I have a tandem axle boat trailer with disk brakes that has an Atwood 61101 coupler that I want to replace. I understand that coupler is no longer available. Is there a replacement that would be a direct bolt on?

Yes, there is! To replace your Atwood 61101 coupler, I recommend the Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator w/ Electric Lockout item # DM62VR. This actuator is plated in zinc which means you won't have to deal with the actuator corroding. The Demco actuators have what is called an EZ-Latch system, which means you just drop the actuator's coupler over the hitch ball and it snaps right in place. The electric reverse lockout will let you back up without engaging your trailer brakes.
The Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator item # DM72VR you were looking at is for drum brakes only. It won't provide enough pressure to correctly operate disc brakes.
