How to Use the Curt Echo w/ a 2019 Cadillac XT5 w/ Factory Towing Package

Question:

I have a 2019 Cadillac XT5 with a factory tow package including the 7pin connector. I was told I need to hook up another wire for Power or Ground to make the Curt Echo hitch work with it since the vehicle does not have an installed Brake Controller. Is this true or will the Echo work fine out of the box without doing anything extra to the car?

Nope, not true at all. If your 2019 Cadillac XT5 came from the factory with a 7-way installed all you will need to do is plug in the Curt Echo item # C51180 and set it up. No additional wiring required. Some manufacturer's ship their vehicles without all the necessary towing fuses. GM is not one of them. If your power wire or ground wire isn't hooked up it's because someone removed them.
