Info Needed to Add Brakes to a Trailer Axle
Question:
I have a 2012 Load Rite ep-18/20-2550 single axle trailer I use for my pontoon boat. The axles do have flanges on them. I would like to buy a brake package from you. I tow with a 2015 Tacoma and I am a couple hundred pounds over the legal towing limits without brakes. I am looking for the easiest to install myself. Surge or electric. Thank you

I attached a link to a page that will walk you through the entire process of picking out components to add brakes to a trailer but basically you need to start with the axle capacity and the wheel bolt pattern. With that said there isn't any way we can recommend to safely exceed the towing capacity of your truck.
