Troubleshooting Trailer Running Lights Not Working
Question:
When towing trailer with my 2015 2500 ram truck, the the no longer trailer has brake and turn signals but no running lights. Electrical is 4 position flat connector. When plugging the trailer into my 1998 chev silverado, the 4 pos receptacle and trailer lights work fine. Also when plugging our travel trailer to larger round receptacle on the dodge, travel trailer has no lights at all. Is this a fuse issue? in all cases the trailers were not on the ball hitch.

Expert Reply:
This is most likely a dirty 4-way connector pin that is causing this problem. Try cleaning the pins of the 4-ways with sandpaper to improve the connection and most likely the problem will go away. If not that it could also be a blown fuse on the tow vehicle.
