Recommended Weight Distribution System for a 2,500 lbs Travel Trailer

Question:

Hello, we have a 2023 Subaru Outback XT which has a 350 tongue weight and 3500 tow capacity. It has a Draw-Tite hitch installed. We are towing a 2500 lb. travel trailer. Can you recommend a weight distribution system to add to our set up? Thank you

I would be happy to! Weight distribution systems are selected based off of tongue weight which is typically between 10% - 15% of your trailer's total weight. This would put yours between 250 lbs - 375 lbs. There's really only a couple of systems that work with this low of a tongue weight and you do not want to use an overrated one.

I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control item # EQ37040ET. This system works with tongue weights up to 400 lbs so you won't be over capacity if you're on the lower 250 lbs end.

The Equal-i-zer item # EQ37040ET has built in 4 point sway control that will keep your trailer in line with your Subaru when you're driving down the highway and get passed by a semi or make a sudden move. This system includes a 2" shank and a 2" hitch ball.

I have linked a review video below so you can see the functions of this system demonstrated.
