Do Slide Topper Brackets Install Onto Plastic Fascia Or The Metal Siding?
Question:
I have a 2022 grey wolf travel trailer 26 foot. I want to put topper on main slide. When installing brackets do they go on fascia or metal siding. I have seen it both ways on other trailers. Is there backing behind metal?

Expert Reply:
When installing a slide topper, the brackets will need to go on the metal siding, and not the plastic fascia. According to the installation instructions, all of the screws supporting the slide topper must have a backer within the wall of the unit. Generally the manufacturer of the slide out can tell you the proper or intended location with good solid backing. Usually the brackets can be positioned right in the upper corner of the slide, where the wall meets the plastic molding.
