Replacement Swivel Collars For A Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain Tow Bar

Question:

I have the all All Terrain Non- Binding Tow Bar part # 522 that I have on my motorhome I pull a 2011 Chevy Equinox with Roadmaster base plate before I left home I put both bars into the socket of the base plate made sure they clicked into place pulled on it several times hooked up my toe bar and I was on my way. I was driving up to Quincy California when one of the bars on the base plate came out the car was swaying back and forth. I stopped and unhooked the car and went back to find the bar which I did but the swivel collar was messed up from dragging on the pavement so I need to order another one I looked on your website in all the ones I saw looked different than the one I have what do you recommend? And why did this bar come out of the base plate of my car when it was secured when I left home? Thanks

Expert Reply:

It appears you have an older model of the Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain Tow Bar, which is why the collars look slightly different. The Replacement Swivel Collars # RM-9200-6 will be the correct replacement for the damaged collar. As far as what actually happened it is hard to say. Something would have had to failed or been previously damaged for the arm to just come out like that. It may be worth contacting Roadmaster to see if this is covered under warranty. At this point we do recommend replacing your tow bar with a new one # RM-522.
