Best Folding Tonneau Cover For 2012 Chevy Silverado 1500

Question:

I am trying my best to research and discover the BEST hard fold Tonneau Cover for my recently purchased 2012 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT extended Cab with a full long bed 8-2inch I believe is the often specified dimension. There are very few hard fold covers for LONG Bed 2012 Chevy Silverado 1500s. I am finding the reviews very helpful, but often there are also negative reviews even about some of the TOP LINE COVERS. I have narrowed down the choice between Extang Trifecta 2.0 Soft Tonneau Cover - Folding - Vinyl Item # EX92655 which lists for $xxx. from your website, and the other cover I am considering is INEXRUD Hard Tri-Fold 82inch / 97.6inch Truck Bed Cover Compatible for 2007-2013 Chevy Silverado GMC Sierra 1500 2007-2014 I have no idea who makes the INEXRUD? Like I say it is very difficult to find the long bed folding cover for 2007-2012 GM Trucks. Any help or comments will be much appreciated. Thank you.

While I cannot comment about Inexrud because I've never heard of them and we don't sell them, I can say for your 2012 Chevy Silverado 1500 long bed, if you want the best folding cover, you nailed one of the two options with the Extang Trifecta 2.0 Soft Tonneau Cover # EX92655.

This would be the best soft folding tonneau, as Extang is known for quality, but the cover is also easy to install, has an aluminum frame which means it won't rust, and it sits just about an inch above your bed rails so it has a nice aerodynamic look.

You did specify "hard" fold tonneau, so if that's what you wanted instead of a soft fold, then the best one for your Chevy is the BAKFlip G2 Hard Tonneau Cover # BAK26102.

BAKFlip is another cover maker with a reputation for high quality, and the G2 delivers there as well with both an aluminum frame and 1/2" thick aluminum panels so no rust ever, and can withstand up to 300 lbs of weight. The hard fold is more expensive, of course, but since you mentioned a hard fold I did want to at least give you an option to consider.
