The Pro Series Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch and Installation Kit, # PS30128, will fit on your 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Extended Cab. The actual hitches themselves are pretty universal, so the only part you want to verify the fit for is the installation kit. This hitch comes with the Reese Universal Installation Kit, # RP30035, which is compatible with your truck.

I would like to point out that this is a fixed fifth wheel hitch. On short bed trucks, we strongly recommend either using a sliding fifth wheel hitch or replacing your pin box with a Sidewinder.

Traditionally, short bed trucks were not used for towing fifth wheel trailers because there was not enough clearance between the cab of the truck and the trailer overhang to make sharp turns. If you use a fixed fifth wheel hitch and a standard fifth wheel pin box, your trailer could hit your truck in a sharp turn causing expensive repairs. For your truck, I recommend using the Pro Series Fifth Wheel Hitch With Slider, # PS30129. This hitch also comes with the universal fifth wheel installation kit, but it offers 10 inches of additional clearance between the trailer and truck when turning.

Another option would be to replace the pin box on your trailer with a Sidewinder. This route will require more of an investment, but it would be easier to use than a sliding fifth wheel hitch because you will not have to get out of the truck and unlock or lock the hitch each time you turn.

Sidewinders are designed to fit specific OEM pin boxes, so we will need to know the manufacturer and model number of your pin box to choose the correct Sidewinder.
