Locating External Sensor for Lippert Ground Control External Sensor Error
Question:
2014 grand design solitude 379 fl I have an error on the lci electronic leveling system It is 6 point hydraulic. The error is “ external sensor error. I have been reading the other questions and answers about this problem. I can’t find the rear sensor. I have cut then belly open. There is a holding tank directly behind the rear axle. There is about 3 ft from the rear most tank to the rear jacks and I have it all open and u can locate the sensor. Is it normally screwed to the underside of the floor? If I can clear the error the instructions say to manually raise the jacks. How do I do that?

I spoke with my contact at Lippert and this is what they sent me about the external sensor issue you have:
External sensor error means there is an issue with the rear leveling sensor. This will be located 2-3 foot behind the rearmost axle. There may be an access panel in the underbelly, or there may not. Typically this error is due to a bad connection to the sensor or the sensor itself is bad.
It normally would be attached to the underside of the floor behind the belly that you have accessed. I would see if you can find any harnesses that lead to that area and trace them.
You can either use a 3/8" drive ratchet and extension (no socket) at the top of the jack motor (A) or a 3/8" drive ratchet, ratchet extension and 5/16" socket at the bottom of the jack motor (B) to manually raise or lower the jacks.
