Will Swapping To The Advent Air Replacement Air Conditioner Prevent Communication With The Furnace

Question:

I have a 2008 Carriage Cameo which has a ducted13500 Carrier Air V a/c unit with heat pump that the fan motor has gone out on, the Carrier also controls the floor furnace. If you replace the roof unit with say the Advent Air unit does the inside panel and ability to control the furnace stay the same minus the heat pump ability on the top.

The controller is essentially the brains of the system so swapping out the condenser unit on the roof should not affect the system's ability to control the furnace. The thermostat allows you to communicate with the controller which then communicates with the condenser to activate the system just like it does with the furnace. The Advent Air Replacement RV Air Conditioner # ACCAR150B comes with a wire harness adapter so that you can easily plug the unit right into the controller and avoid having to hardwire anything.

Since heat pumps are built into the condenser unit you would lose this function switching to the # ACCAR150B since it does not have one.
