Troubleshooting Down Button of WirelessONE Remote Not Working
Question:
Put new batteries in remote 72704. Activated up button. But down button not working. Rechecked batteries with + signs up. Re closed remote, now numbers are showing in red color?

It sounds like the remote is damaged and in need of replacing with the part # AL72704 based on what you mentioned. You can try reinserting the batteries to see if another reset helps but if not the remote does need to be replaced.
