Comparing A B&W Companion Turnoverball System With A Ram OEM Puck System

Question:

I may be going on some uneven roads when I boondock. I like the ease of removal of the gooseneck mount BandW Companion 5th wheel hitch. But does a puck mounted hitch offer any advantages when pulling a 17000GVW trailer with a SRW Ram 3500 Crew Cab 8’bed Cummins truck? Also I head that the A series is replacing the q series on the Curt, but the A doesn’t have the 360 head mount. Is this true and would I really notice the difference.

Puck mounted hitches like the Companion OEM # BWRVK3600 make things easier since you can release the feet of the hitch while in the bed instead of having to get in the wheel well and pull the lever like you would with the Turnoverball hitch Companion # BWRVK3500. Other than convenience it offers no other advantages that you wouldn't already get from a Turnoverball hitch.

I haven't heard of Curt dropping the Q-Series hitches but there are a lot of issues with the 360 pivoting head because it ends up working against upgraded pin boxes like the Rota-Flex # LC328330 and can actually break the head when used with one. The difference would not be noticeable enough to say that the Q-Series # C16530-16021 would be better than the A-Series # C16044.
