What To Do With Brake Cable Interfering w/ Install Of Firestone Air Bag Helper Springs 2017 GMC 3500
Question:
I am trying to install the top bracket for the left air bag first. The problem is that there is a brake cable there next to it, and it isnt very flexible at all. I am having a hard time fitting the bracket on the jounce bumper holder, the brake cable is in the way. See Photo. What am I supposed to do about this?

We had a similar issue when installing the Air Lift # AL88338 on a 2016 GMC Sierra in our shop. We removed the bracket which holds the brake cable in place and re-secured it later using a different bracket. I have linked that install video below where you can see the new bracket being installed at the 12:00 minute mark. You can do the same when installing the Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label Extreme Duty Air Helper Springs # F2709 on your 2017 GMC Sierra 3500. The bracket used in the video was supplied by Air Lift in their kit but you should be able to locate a similar bracket at a local hardware store.
