Do I Need the Adapter Module for my 2018 GMC Sierra 3500 to Work w/ a HydraStar Actuator?
Question:
I have a 2018 GMC Sierra 3500 Denali DRW with the 6.6 Duramax. Im towing a 2021 Grand Design Solitude 385GK with the MorRyde 8k Independent Suspension and Kodiak electric over hydraulic disc brakes, I believe with the Hydrastar actuator. I have become aware that the trailer brakes arent working at all. Ive seen comments about an add-on component I may need because of a possible compatibility issue between the actuator and my trucks integrated trailer brake controller. Some comments say it is needed on an 18 and some say its not needed on 18 and newer GMCs. Is this something I need?

Yes, it is something you need. The HydraStar electric-over-hydraulic actuators will work with the GM factory brake controllers if you use the Adapter Module for Ford and Chevy Brake Controllers item # HBA-CAM.
