Is Grease Required For The Slipper Spring Bolts Of The Roadmaster Comfort Ride Suspension Kit

Question:

Im going to be installing the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Slipper Spring system on my 2021 Grand Design 310-GK. Ive watched the install video you guys created, and noted that when attaching the slipper spring to the fixed shackle on the RV, the installer says the new spring has a nylon bushing, which should not be greased. He reuses the wet bolts from the old setup after cleaning them of all grease, to prevent deterioration of the nylon bushing. If thats true, Id rather not re-use the wet bolts, as that could create later confusion that those bolts should be greased, when thats not correct. Are the bushings on the new slipper springs nylon? And if so, what non-wet bolt should be used to attach them to the fixed shackle on the RV?

Expert Reply:

The bushings for the slipper springs in your Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit w/ Shock Absorbers - Tandem 7K Trailer Axles # RM-2460-2570 would not need grease so you can definitely swap out the wet bolts with some standard bolts like part # 166081.
