What Happens if Trailer Tongue Weight is More than WD System Tongue Weight Range

Question:

My WD hitch has a max TW of 1,000 lbs, but my travel trailer hitch weight is 1,120 lbs. What does it mean exactly or how will it affect my travel trailer, squat, and sway with not having a WD hitch with the correct range for my current travel trailer? How does having a WD hitch rated to 1,400 lbs change the outcome?

If your trailers tongue weight is above the tongue weight range of your system it will basically just not be very effective at reducing sag. You'll find that even when the spring bar tension is maxed out you just won't be able get rid of the sag. If the opposite were the case and the system was rated too high you'd have a really harsh ride quality.

A system like the Equal-i-zer part # EQ37120ET like you mentioned that has a tongue weight range of 800 to 1,200 lb would be a much better option that work great with your tongue weight of 1,120 lbs.
