Can I Use a Sliding B&W Companion Hitch for a Turnover Ball System w/ a Turning Point Pin Box?

Question:

I purchased a 2023 Reflection grand design 295RL with a turn point hitch. I plan to lock out the turn point hitch on the trailer and then want to install a companion BW GNRk3500 hitch with a slider in BW’s turnover ball hitch on my 2008 Ford F-250 diesel with 6.75 box. Is this setup acceptable and will it clear the cab with the BW slider hitch? I assume I CANNOT use the non slider BW hitch with a wedge and the turn point pin hitch unlock and activated to pivot under the trailer? Or is there a better hitch set up to have both the gooseneck and fifth wheel hitch combined a I do have a goose neck trailer

Congrats on the new trailer! If you lock out the Turning Point pin box so it does not rotate you can use the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider item # BWRVK3400-5W. You will have plenty of clearance when making turns with your short bed 2008 Ford F-250.

This will be a great set up for both a 5th wheel and a gooseneck hitch. You are correct you can not use the fixed Companion item # BWRVK3500 and the Turnover ball system item # BWGNRK1108-5W with a rotating pin box. The square receiver is not rated to be used with a rotating pin box. It puts too much stress on the receiver in your bed and the post on the Companion.

To make towing with a 5th wheel easier, I recommend adding the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness item # C56000. This harness puts a 7-way connector in the bed of your truck and allows you to keep the one on your bumper. This makes hooking up to your 5th wheel trailer easier and more convenient.
