All you need is a ball mount with the right amount of drop to tow the trailer level. To determine the amount of drop you will need there are some measurements that you will need to take.
First make sure the truck and trailer are on level ground when taking the measurements. You will measure from the ground to the top of the receiver opening on the hitch on your 2012 Chevy Silverado.
Next measure from the ground to the bottom of the trailer coupler with the trailer level and on level ground. The difference between the two measurements will be the amount of drop you need in a ball mount. I have linked a how to article that explains how to take these measurements.
I have also included a link to the ball mount main page for you. Once you know the drop you need to tow the trailer level you can choose the right ball mount.
