Trunk Mounted Bike Rack Recommendation For a 2006 Mini Cooper

A trunk mounted bike rack for your 2006 Mini cooper I recommend using is the Thule OutWay 2 Bike Rack, # TH45JV. It is also available in a 3 bike version as the Thule OutWay 3, # TH56BV. This bike rack will attach to the rear hatch of your 2006 Mini Cooper and the base will rest on the top of your bumper.

It is one of our most popular trunk mounted bike racks, and is the easiest to install and remove. It uses only 2 retractable cables instead of the 4-6 straps that other racks use to secure the rack to the vehicle for a fast and easy installation. It has a 2 bike capacity with a total weight capacity of 66 lbs. The carrier itself weighs in at 13 pounds.

If you will be carrying any alternative frame, women's, children's bikes, that do not have a horizontal top frame bar that is straight across from handle bars to seat post. I recommend using the Thule Bike Adapter Bar, # TH982XT, to carry the bikes more level, and this usually improves ground clearance.
