Will The Power Adapter # FR87PR Resolve Furrion Camera Power Issues Behind 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe?

Question:

I have a 2023 Chevy Tahoe with the Max Trailering Package and am towing a 24ft. 2023 Rockwood MiniLite travel trailer that was prewired for a Furrion backup camera with the sharkfin holder. I bought a backup camera system Furrion FOS07TDBK that included a monitor and got it working when connected using the connector built-in to the monitor adapter. After installing it on the prewired sharkfin mounting bracket, it only works when I have my parking lights on as I am driving, and even then, loses the signal every few seconds so I get an image or video from the camera for a second or two, followed by a few seconds of black screen before it cycles back on. Im assuming I need the FR87PR adapter for my Tahoes trailer wiring connector, or the other hardwired adapter, VGR64VR. I really dont want to tear apart the wiring that was done at the factory on my trailer to install the hardwired option. so Im hoping the FR87PR will resolve my issue. Will the FR87PR resolve this issue for my setup?

Helpful Expert Reply:

Yes, the 7-Way Vehicle Power Adapter # FR87PR will allow your Furrion camera system to operate correctly. Your 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe uses a Pulse Wave Modulation for the trailer lights to be able to detect errors with the trailer lighting. The adapter will provide a constant 12 volt power source which the camera requires to operate correctly.
