Would the Reese Weight Distribution Shank Part # RP63971 Work for 5 inches of Drop
Question:
I measured 5 inch . I assume the vehicle will squat some as the tongue weight of my trailer is 400lb. Can I use this bar? App is a trunion wd hitch. I dont want to go to the next size because I am concerned about clearance of where the bar ends and the road. Vehicle is 2011 durango crew 4wd. Trailer is a 2011 airstream sport bambi. Thanks

You are correct, there will be a slight squat to your 2011 Dodge Durango suspension when the tongue weight of your 2011 Airstream Sport Bambi trailer is on the hitch. The Reese Weight Distribution shank part # RP63971 that you referenced should be perfect for you since you said you need a 5 inch drop and this will do 4-3/4 inches of drop with a trunnion system like yours.
I attached a review video for this ball mount, and FAQ on weight distribution and an FAQ on determining the correct rise/drop ball mount for a setup.
