What's Best Brake Controller for Tractor that Could be Exposed to Rain

Question:

I appreciated the answer from Mike L about mounting a brake controller on a tractor see https://www.etrailer.com/question-500201.html I need to do the same in order to keep my tractor from getting pushed around by heavy trailers when operating in my hilly woods. The problem is that I have an open station tractor. Does anyone make a brake controller that is weather resistant? I dont want to have to remove the controller when the tractor is parked outside, or if I get an unexpected rain shower while working in the woods. I see that RedArc makes controllers that are mounted remotely. I could put them under the hood, but their custom, multi-function control knob is not weather-proof.

Your best bet would be with the Redarc Tow Pro Elite part # RED44FR that you mentioned. You'd want to mount the controller in a remote area away from the weather like you mentioned and then mount the knob out of the elements as much as possible. While not a totally perfect solution the knob would be the easiest to keep protected since it's electronics would be behind the panel it installs on.

The Elite verstion of the Tow Pro has the ability to go into time delayed mode which you would need for an off-road application since the bumps would confuse a proportional controller into thinking you are slamming on the brakes.
