Gooseneck & 5TH Wheel Hitch Systems Compatible With Air Bag Springs On 2022 F-350 Single Rear Wheels

Question:

I have a 2022 f350 4wd fx4 SRW 6.5ft box. 6.7 diesel. I want to be able to tow gooseneck and 5th wheel and do it level, and 90 degree turns, while maintaining the use of my bed with a system I can remove on my own. I had the following in mind: bandw turnover ball hitch, demco 5th wheel rails compatible with turnover ball hitch, Andersen ultimate 3200 fifth wheel adapter, Airlift air bags w/jounce bumpers, and a compressor. Could you advise whether this will all work together, and if so, provide the part numbers you’d recommend? Thanks!

Yes, you are able to use the different parts together on your 2022 Ford F-350. First you will start with the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # BWGNRK1116. Since you have a short bed truck you may also want the 4" Offset Ball # BWGNXA4085 to gain you some additional turning clearance.

While you are able to use the Demco 5th Wheel Base Rails Adapter # DM6140 with the Andersen Ultimate Connection 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # AM3200 a better option is to use the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # BWRVK3400. While this is a much heavier hitch and may require additional help to remove from your bed it will not crumple like I have seen the Andersen do in the past. It also does not require Safety Chains # RM3230 like the Andersen will and gives you 12" of additional clearance as the 9" offset with the Andersen may not be enough to ensure you can make full jackknife turns.

The Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs # AL29DQ are the correct air springs for your F-350. These have the internal jounce bumpers and are compatible with your single rear axle and in bed hitch. The Air Lift WirelessAIR Compressor System # AL58WQ is my favorite compressor system to use with the Air Lift springs. This utilizes a smart manifold which allows you to set your air pressure from your smart phone using the Air Lift app. It also monitors air pressure while you drive and will automatically make changes if the air pressure changes by more than 3psi from your last setting.
