Recommended Replacement Gears for a 015796 Hammerblow 180 Series Jack
Question:
I have a Stock trailer with the Bulldog Jack and the gears feel like they are slipping. I took the cap off and it doesnt have the spring like in the video. Im curious if you know of anyone who might know if that missing spring would cause the skip/grinding feeling or if I need to did deeper. The trailer is 20 years old so its an older model. 015796 Hammerblow 180 series 12k static 10k lift.

It's most likely not that spring and instead a gear issue. The fact that it is slipping or starting to means the teeth on the gears have been worn down. The grinding feeling means it's getting worse. Like you said the trailer's getting up there in years. The 015796 Hammerblow 180 series have been discontinued for quite awhile but we do offer the Replacement Gear Kit for Bulldog Sidewind Jacks item # BD500212.
