Options For Leveling The Back End Of A 1998 Newmar Kountry Star Motorhome

Question:

I have a 1998 Newmar Kountry Star motorhome with a GVW of 20,500 lbs. It squats in the rear loaded or unloaded. I want to raise the rear in the expectation that itll shift some of the weight forward and provide better steering. The only thing in the front and rear are leaf springs. I was looking at both airbags and things like Sumo Springs. If I have to Ill have another leaf put in. What can we do with the products you have?

For a 1998 Newmar Kountry Star, you options are going to be limited. If the leaf springs are stock, replacing them with a new, slightly heavier duty spring may help to lift the rear slightly. I do not have literature that will tell me leaf spring specs for your motorhome. We would need you to inspect one of the springs and take some measurements of the overall length and width and such. We may have a spring to replace it, depending on what you have on there.

As far as suspension enhancement, I recommend going with the Timbren # TURMDB. These are the rubber bump stops that will sit above the rear axle and will help to prevent any excessive sagging. They will not necessarily "lift" the vehicle, but they will help to keep it closer to level which will in effect improve your handling. At this time we do not have any air bags or sumo springs for your vehicle.
