Can An Advent Air RV Air Conditioner Replace A Dometic Duo-Therm Unit And Accept A Heat Strip

Question:

Looking at replacing a duo therm AC unit- 59516.531. I saw in one review that the ACDOM150B is a direct swap replacement option. However I have read many comments stating that is not the case- how can I find out about the replacement process and if they are truly a direct swap. Also, I want to add the heat strip is that a huge challenge and finally does this unit include the interior panel that’s viewed from the inside of the trailer?

To determine if you'll have a direct swap out you'll need to remove the air distribution box cover inside the RV and look for the wire harness that hangs down from the rooftop condenser unit and plugs into the controller. This harness with have either a 6-pin or 9-pin connector. If you have a 6-pin connector then the Advent Air Replacement RV Air Conditioner # ACDOM150B would be a direct swap out. If you have a 9-pin connector then you'll need the # ACCOL150B instead so that you can get the 6-pin to 9-pin adapter.

If you want to add in a heat strip then you'll have to replace the entire system and use Advent's air distribution box and controller as well. You can get all of this together with part # ACM150BCH.
